A wise man once said, “Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons”, and this year Marlborough is laden with riches for serious foodies to feast upon!
Sauvignon Blanc Day – 4th May – Every feast should be accompanied by marvellous wine, and this month we celebrate the grape variety that is synonymous with Marlborough, Sauvignon Blanc. This is the ninth annual celebration of Sauvignon Blanc, and this year you can enjoy a special lunch at the Vines Village Cafe. Find out more here.
Bayleys Friday Night Feast – 11th May – We’re proud to sponsor this true celebration of Marlborough’s incredible food, the people who make it happen and the culinary geniuses who bring it all together. With its street party vibe, festive lights and a mouth watering range of exciting food options, the Friday Night Feast is a local favourite. Hit up this food lovers’ festival in the centre of Blenheim for a celebration of Marlborough food, the people who make it happen and the culinary geniuses who bring it all together. Stalls packed with your favourite food will fill the centre of town, so bring the kids, bring your appetites and join the party! Here’s a link to the Facebook Event Page.
Marlborough Farmer’s Market – 13th May – While the fabulous Marlborough Farmer’s Market takes place every Sunday, Mother’s Day happens only once a year! This year treat Mum to a mouth-watering breakfast and a stroll round the market to pick up her favourite local foods.
Catch Your Own – Late autumn weather can be stunning in Marlborough, so why not take to the water and enjoy our beautiful Marlborough Sounds. Remember to visit the Ministry for Primary Industries website to find out about how many fish you can catch and what size they have to be.
When the Weather Cools, Warm Up – Our good friends at MarlboroughNZ have put together the Winter Fireplace Trail. If you needed an excuse to sip super wine and eat exciting food then look no further, this is it!
