We can’t believe we’re halfway through 2017 already, which can only mean it’s time for the sixth in our series of blog articles profiling our Bayleys Marlborough team members. We want you to get to know each of our agents a little better so that you can make the right choice when you come to sell.
Many great businesses start as a family business and Bayleys is one of those. Bayleys Marlborough prides itself on supporting those core values of the company founders and, as such, we like to think of our entire team as one big happy family. To that end, this month we’d like you to meet a family within our family, Faye and Quentin Doig.
As part of the Picton team, Faye and Quentin are both real estate all rounders… Faye explains that in a small office you need to ensure your expertise can cover all bases, so whilst the couple work primarily in residential, they have also listed and sold commercial and lifestyle properties. Quentin believes that the support they receive from the specialist divisions in the Blenheim office helps them make a great success of this diversity.
The Doigs came into real estate well equipped with people skills! Faye had had a lengthy career as a radiation therapist in New Zealand and Australia. So making people feel at ease is well within her comfort zone. Quentin spent twenty four years in policing, reaching a senior management role in the investigations area. This background may well be why he relishes the more complex real estate issues and working with clients to resolve those issues. Quentin is of the view that there is always a solution to every problem if you take time to research and consider all the pertinent issues, it’s just a matter of consulting with the relevant interested parties.
As a dedicated husband and wife team on all their listings, vendors benefit from the Doigs combined knowledge, experience and complimentary skills. Asked for their number one piece of advice for prospective vendors, Faye and Quentin say that first impressions tend to be lasting impressions. They always suggest that vendors take time to prepare and present their property to the market. Quentin, Faye’s greatest champion says, “Faye has very good skills in this department”.
Whilst neither Faye nor Quentin are originally from Marlborough both have holidayed in the region from an early age, and they have, as such, learned to embrace the Marlborough lifestyle. They now consider themselves locals by choice and are loving it! When they’re not selling real estate, you may well find them boating in the Sounds. Quentin is also an avid sports fan and enjoys keeping up with most of New Zealand’s endeavours in international sports. Faye has her hands full developing their gorse covered, hillside section into a garden!
