At the beginning of 2017 we promised to bring you a series of blog articles profiling our Bayleys Marlborough team members, so you could get to know each of our agents a little better. It’s August and we’re still going strong with introductions! This month we’d like to introduce you to Jacinta and Tony Yardley.
It’s no secret that team work makes the dream work, and Jacinta, Tony and their assistant, Holly Crafar, are no exception to that rule! When you list with Jacinta or Tony, you’re benefiting from the knowledge and experience of this dedicated team of three within the wider Bayleys Marlborough team.
Jacinta has been working at Bayleys Marlborough for slightly longer than Tony, but both come from a background in the NZ Police Force, and both will attest that this experience with its requirement for expert communication and negotiation skills have helped them to become successful in real estate. They understand the importance of trust in building client relationships, and are skilled in thinking on their feet and adapting to change.
Both Jacinta and Tony specialise in residential real estate, although Tony, who has also been a sheep shearer and dairy farmer has found he has also been drawn towards rural and lifestyle properties, as well as commercial.
Asked for her #1 piece of advice for vendors, Jacinta says, “Take the time to get yourself acquainted with the market so you get a real feel for what will happen with the sale of your home.” Tony elaborates, saying “Listen to your agent and read the information they give you on where your property sits in the market.” He also says “Remember the agent is working for nothing until a successful sale is achieved, so do focus on what the agent and the organisation they work for has to offer, not solely on commission.” To illustrate the importance of this Jacinta says, “We have had a number of occasions when competition has been created from our campaigns and we have achieved prices far exceeding what the seller expected.”
Jacinta and Tony’s clients consistently praise them for their professionalism, and Tony believes that good, honest feedback and advice plays a huge part in that.
When they’re not marketing property Jacinta and Tony enjoy socialising with friends and family, and love their sport too; they are proud to support The Emerging Talent Netball Team, The Marlborough Girls College Year Ten Netball Team and Marlborough Junior Rugby.
