It’s time for the fifth in our series of blog articles for 2017, profiling our Bayleys Marlborough team members. It’s part of our quest to ensure you get to know each of our agents a little better enabling you to make the right choice when you come to sell. This month we’d like you to meet two true gents, Michael Ryan and Glenn Kirby.
Michael will forgive us for telling you that he’s like part of the furniture around here… And we couldn’t do without him! He joined the Bayleys Marlborough team in 2011, but his experience in Marlborough real estate goes back to the seventies, in fact, 1975, the year the first grapes were planted in Marlborough. Forty years later, and Michael, like a fine wine himself, just keeps getting better! His experience and professionalism combined with his regional knowledge are invaluable in ensuring he gets the best price for his vendors. Specialising in residential and lifestyle properties he makes the whole process of both buying and selling a breeze.
Michael’s number one piece of advice for those who are listing their properties… “Choose your agent carefully and remember the cheapest is not always the best. Ask friends and advisors who they recommend, and choose an agent who is going to work for you, and get the best results!”
When Michael’s not selling property, you’ll find him enjoying Marlborough time with family… Boating, fishing and skiing, or simply enjoying time spent with his young grandchildren.
Compared to Michael, Glenn is a relative newcomer to real estate, joining the Bayleys Marlborough team in 2015. But, anybody in the industry will tell you that one of the most important skills for a real estate agent to master is excellent communication, and with a long background in the broadcasting industry, Glenn is well qualified in that department!
Glenn also specialises in residential real estate and loves helping his clients get ahead in life. He says, “Sometimes you meet people who are going through difficult personal situations or tough times, and it’s really rewarding to help them move on and make a fresh start.” Asked for his number one piece of advice for vendors, Glenn responds, “Trust the advice of the agent you are working with. They are there to find a buyer who will pay the best price for your property.” To help him achieve maximum prices for his clients, Glenn draws on his communication and innovative marketing skills, using social media to reach a wider audience.
Glenn is originally from Timaru, but his work in radio has taken him to most regions in New Zealand. He also spent five years living in London. He’s now a Marlburian through and through having fallen in love with the region and the climate! Glenn’s a family man, so you’ll find him hanging out with his wife and young boys when he’s not selling property, or enjoying his love of football and golf.
