Last year, we began writing a series of “Meet the Agent” blog posts, so that you could get to know your Bayleys Marlborough team members. We believe these articles are important, as they will ensure that you’re selecting the right agent to sell your property. Our Bayleys Marlborough family continues to grow, and today we’d like to introduce you to two new real estate agents Jackie Herkt and Mike Poff.
Jackie may be a newly licensed agent, but she’s no stranger to Real Estate and no stranger to the office! She’s actually been part of the Bayleys Marlborough team for sixteen years!
Jackie’s real estate career began over two decades ago. She worked for two other firms before joining Bayleys Marlborough in 2002, when she worked with John Hoare marketing and selling rural and lifestyle properties. In 2015, Jackie began working alongside Andy Poswillo as a salesperson assisting him with his rural real estate business. Jackie recently decided to begin practicing as a real estate agent herself, and now runs her own property portfolio, specialising in residential and lifestyle properties.
When you choose Jackie to sell your home, you can be confident that her vast experience will ensure you and your purchasers are well looked after. Jackie knows that communication between all parties is the key to a successful sale at a good price.
Asked for her number one piece of advice for vendors, Jackie replies, “Take time to understand the process. Ensure that you are patient and let us market your property well. We want to ensure that you get the best buyers through your property and the best price in any market!”
Originally, from the Kapiti Coast, Jackie has called Marlborough home for almost thirty years. Family is important to her, and she feels blessed to have her three daughters, their partners, and six grandchildren, also living in the region. As a fan of the exquisite Marlborough Sounds, when Jackie isn’t selling real estate, you’ll find her out on the water, fishing or boating with family and friends.
Mike has recently joined the Bayleys Marlborough team and specialises in viticulture and country sales. Mike’s previous career in the wine industry spanned twenty-five years and has prepared him perfectly for his new role. As a senior viticulturist, he has worked closely with grape growers and vineyard owners securing fruit supply for wine companies though grape supply contract and leases, so he knows a thing or two about negotiation!
Mike’s little black book of viticulture contacts means that he is the perfect choice to market your vineyard property. He understands the industry and therefore maximises value and returns for his vendors.
His number one piece of advice for vendors is… “Consider timing. Timing really is everything. It could take a year or two to get a property ready for the market.” Mike can help you maximise your property’s potential by advising you on a timeline. He’ll understand exactly what needs to be done before selling.
Having spent fifteen years in Marlborough, Mike now believes it’s the best office in the world. When he’s not selling vineyards, you might find him sampling the fruits of vineyards with family and friends; or enjoying the great outdoors, he loves to mountain bike and ski.
